Pox by Angela Pearse
Two women bound by a deadly affliction.
Oxford, Present Day. Researcher Anna Butler is hopelessly in love with history professor Jeremy Trelawny. Forced to endure him dating other women without sparing her a second glance, Anna suffers in silence. However, while examining some 18th-century books for Jeremy's smallpox research, Anna finds a memoir with unexpected parallels to her situation.
Essex, 1766. Mercy Graham is hired as a maid to unconventional rector Sebastian Fannon. But when his handsome, arrogant friend Jasper Donne comes to stay, Mercy falls hard. A lowly pox-scarred maid isn't on Jasper's wishlist for a wife, yet she unwittingly discovers a secret that connects them on a deeper level.
As Mercy’s story with the roguish Jasper unfolds, Anna attempts to deal with her own love life. But is fake dating a friend's cousin the best solution?

She Who Brought the Storm by Vaela Denarr and Micah Iannandrea
Rhi is small, anxious, and gifted with magic that disables them more than it helps—Powerful magic, which many would stop at nothing to obtain. In their desperate search for safety, Rhi turns to none other than one of the secret dragon masters of Habitat Seventeen, Laura, Lady of Ash.
Exposing Rhi’s forbidden knowledge could garner Laura the recognition and allies she needs. Instead she offers them a choice: She will shield them from their pursuers, and they’ll be her hunting dog. Loyal, obedient, and exactly what she needs to deal with a pervasive monster situation in her territory before the other Starborn catch wind of it.
Rhi tentatively agrees, but the plan is complicated by the watchful eye of Calia, a bloodthirsty dragon with much to gain from their failure. And Rhi, grappling with their magic and desperately angling for control, doesn’t realize that being with Laura will put them closer to danger than ever before until it’s too late.
Superdrew and the Betrayal of Donhill Corp by B J Pierson
Who says kids can’t make a difference in the adult world? Not SuperDrew, and he’s proved it big time.
Not only did Drew and Jazz sneak into Donhil Corporation and uncover their secret supervillain plans, but they even negotiated a shaky truce with CEO Lungowe to get them out safely. They could call it quits there and count themselves lucky. But that would mean letting Donhil Corp win, wiping out humanity’s free will in the name of world peace. Like they could let that happen.
Keeping up the fight is easier said than done, though. While they’ve been enduring the most epic groundings known to man, Ms. Lungowe has poured all her resources into a huge project that would seal humanity’s fate for good. If Drew and Jazz can’t stop her, they can kiss things like creativity and individuality goodbye.
Drew and Jazz will have to navigate unfamiliar territory, master new gadgets, and trust new allies—not to mention dodging all of Ms. Lungowe’s hypervigilant goons—to stop her and Donhil’s plans. It’s a tall order, even for SuperDrew. Is it more than they can handle?

The Shadow of Arcadia (The Augment Book 2) by Alan K Dell, release date July 15th
SIDERA SILERE: LET THE STARS REMAIN SILENT.
Nestled in the shadow of a derelict alien warship, the Martian city of Arcadia Landing shines as a beacon of humanity’s golden future. There, United Nations representatives gather to sign a new international treaty; a stepping-stone towards global unity. But when a dangerous faction born of an unlikely blend of isolationists and alien-worshippers attacks the city, the hope of unity lies scattered among the ruins.
Heartbroken, Captain James Fowler must work together with Nate Rifkin, the rueful captain of the Magellan, to bring those responsible to justice. But a deadly encounter with the cabal’s enigmatic masked leader draws James into a deeper mystery stretching back nearly fifty years.
With the help of Capt. Erin Pritchard, and anachronistic force of nature, Capt. April Rose-Hartley, they investigate the links to James and Angela’s past to uncover the identity of this murderous figurehead, track him down, and put a stop to his grand plans for humanity.

Book Review
Gloria by Katherine Shaw, reviewed by N S Ford
A suspenseful and surprising novel about a woman who escapes a controlling relationship when she discovers that her husband has something dreadful planned for her. This had a very slight science fiction flavour but the genre I would describe as psychological thriller. The way it’s written really has the reader rooting for Gloria and raises awareness of domestic abuse. The settings, particularly Amsterdam, were realistically portrayed and the quick pace had me turning the pages. I would recommend this book if you like suspense novels without a lot of violence.
